Position Overview

At Fuze we are passionate about building software that enables teams to work together more effectively. We want to harness the power of video and high quality audio to build a meeting product that is intuitive, easy to use, reliable, elegant and above all visually stunning. Running a large scale global service is possible only with high caliber backend developers who are passionate about their craft.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the provisioning and billing components of the Fuze service
• Interface with Zuora and Salesforce implementations
• Own the relevant implementation in MySQL
• Expose functionality as a set of REST/JSON APIs
• Provide technical leadership by advocating and evangelizing best practices for developing large scale internet services
• Quickly jump into and solve critical production issues whenever required
• Perform code maintenance, testing, and analysis
• Work in a scrum framework to deliver at high velocity, and have the aptitude and interest to be a scrum lead if needed

Position requirements

• 5+ years hands on experience in Python with some exposure to Python based web frameworks
• In depth knowledge of core Python - including debugging, performance tuning and unit testing
• Strong SQL knowledge with exposure to MySQL.
• Strong experience in Python web frameworks, preferably Pyramid and Pylons.
• In depth knowledge of an ORM, preferably SqlAlchemy
• Experience have integrated with Zuora, Salesforce and Marketo is a really big plus
• Knowledge of Go is not necessary but definitely a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience) and 5+ years’ experience
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux environment and with a version control system like SVN or Git
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to own outcomes and results, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Creativity, flexibility, and a strong desire to learn and take on new challenges is a must

A SAMPLE OF WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO

In 3 months, you will have:

• Take on the billing and provisioning components
• Understand our Zuora implementation and take ownership of that
• Implement several monetization features including internalization support
• Decide on a common set of frameworks, testing and performance monitoring tools to use

In 6 months, you will have:

• Driven integration with salesforce and marketo
• Worked closely with Marketing and Sales teams to implement the most revenue impactful features
• Improved the self-serve workflow and user experience
• Rebuilt the unit testing and automation framework. Driven higher quality throughout the code base

In 12 months, you will have:

• Grown to be a lead contributor in the billing redesign
