Responsible for: The full development lifecycle of Foodo frontend/mobile apps:

• Online shop UI development and testing
• Mobile apps development (nice to have; mainly Android)
• Continuous integration & deployment
• Continuous application improvement & release planning

Interacts with: Member of the Foodo founding and operations team interfacing with:

About us:

The online food market is at the brink of transforming the way we buy food. In Korea already 10% of all food purchases are made online, 5% in the UK, but only 0.8% in Germany.

Nearly a third of all Germans are ready to buy groceries online. But the current options often are expensive, slow, or delivered in mountains of packaging. We are convinced there is a better way to buy food online: fast, easy, local and at fair prices. That is why we have established Foodo. We are not a global .com giant, we are a local online grocery from the region for the region. Offering what you want, when you want it and delivering directly to your doorstep on the same day.

While there are many players in the market such as e.g. Rewe online, Amazon or LeShop (Migros) with decent growth rates we believe there is an exciting opportunity for a new startup with a compelling value proposition.

Foodo is an innovative company in the food sector. We intend to redefine the way people buy food online and will offer our customers a unique and compelling value proposition:

We offer the typical range of products you can find in a supermarket but specialize in regional and healthy food. 30-40% of our assortment is regionally sourced and we offer a variety of healthy food (e.g gluten or lactose free, vegetarian, organic/Demeter, …) difficult to find anywhere else.

We are currently in the startup phase, planning to enter the local market serving Konstanz, Kreuzlingen and the surrounding area from our own warehouse in Konstanz and with own delivery operations. If our concept is successful we intend to grow rapidly from 1 to 10 to 100 foodo markets in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and beyond.
