We run Java+Python frontends and backends, using a mix of SQL and NoSQL stores.

Skills

• A generalist, but with expert Java experience
• Excellent problem solving skills, with a creative and analytic mind
• A polyglot, comfortable working with and learning a wide range of tools
• Deep knowledge of the web stack, networks, and Unix administration
• Strong engineering practices (TDD, DI, code reviews)
• Strong Computer Science background

Bonus experience

• AWS infrastructure
• Search infrastructure (Lucene/Solr, ElasticSearch)
• Python and/or Scala
• Image analysis and computer vision
• Horizontal scaling, Heroku, MapReduce
• Both SQL and NoSQL stores
