Merci Maman designs and creates personalised gifts in its London office, primarily engraved jewellery. The company has grown consistently since its inception in 2007 and this trend has accelerated recently, notably due to innovations, internationalisation, increased investments in Digital Marketing and very strong PR when the Duchess of Cambridge was spotted wearing our of its necklaces. In 2014, turnover more than doubled to reach £1.7m and our team of 14 is working on many more growth initiatives.

The majority of sales are generated through our B2C website mercimamanboutique.com. Since our inception, the website is developed by the same freelancer and administered by our ecommerce manager. Given our growth and strong pipeline of projects, we are looking to hire a permanent full time Senior / Lead Developer with a creative vision and technical knowhow who can take full leadership over the technology aspect of the business.

Working closely with the co-founders and the ecommerce manager, key responsibilities of this newly created role will include: * Optimisation and development of our OpenCart eCommerce site and admin to improve the user experience for our visitors and our internal team. * Introduction of new modules, new technology to advance development

  • Aid in the design of new homepage
  • Implementation of different landing pages with A/B testing
  • Improved integration with social media
  • SEO (incl. multi-language URLs)
• Strategic thinking and recommendations
• Reporting. Analytics & Google Webmaster Tool
• Ensure appropriate back-ups and emergency / business continuity recovery plan
• General IT considerations

You will need to have a strong track record in developing and managing an ecommerce website, be a good multi tasker with good communication skills and have a positive ‘can do’ attitude.

Required technical skills: HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, GIT. Nice to have: SASS, Node, Grunt, Opencart or other eCommerce framework experience, Multi language site experience, SEO experience, Social media integration.
