Context

We are currently looking for a permanent candidate to join our consulting team as an IT Project Manager.

The Talan consultant, who would be hired as a full-time employee of Talan, would be responsible for driving the migration project of a loan platform. This will involve coordinating with various stakeholders in the Americas and the client’s head office in Paris. He/She will need to quickly understand the client’s current systems and the proposed system architecture and lead the global project.

Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Build, develop and maintain effective relationships with internal business partners / external customers/stakeholders for the purpose of enhancing team effectiveness.
  • Act as the escalation point for critical business issues, ensuring the potential problem areas or trends and recommended solutions are further escalated to the senior manager.
  • Brand the IT group in improving transparency, implementing metrics/KPI, and streamlining reporting for the management.
  • Create communication/flash reports providing quick and precise overviews of the main highlights of the teams.
  • Help the teams identify the trends of the market, understand the context and constraints of the client’s technical infrastructure, propose alternative strategies based on innovative solutions for improving efficiency, mitigating risk and reducing costs.
  • Work within the collective IT group to help strategize innovative ideas and solutions. Challenge and rationalize the gains and savings behind each request. Create KPI’s highlighting the benefits brought to the platform and the budget dedicated on that front.

 

Required Qualifications

Technical Skill Set:

  • Strong experience using project management software such as JIRA, TFS, MS Project
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies such as Agile or other project management practices used in iterative development environments
  • Solid technical background and strong Excel, PowerPoint and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationship with stakeholders
  • Proactive and innovative, capable of leading change management initiatives and effectively prioritize
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, with strong attention to detail and ability to provide solutions to problems.
  • Enthusiasm and strong motivation in discovering new technologies
  • PMP / PRINCE II certification is a plus

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of exp. in Project Management within IT, Financial Services or Banking environment
