The Role:

We are seeking a data solution developer for this consulting opportunity who is experienced with Cassandra and ElasticSearch who can implement backend integrations with our clients repositories using Python/Flask.  The software is deployed using Docker into the AWS cloud (SNS, SQS, Kinesis, SimpleDB). Freelance consultants preferred, but will consider highly experienced engineers as W2 employee.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Will be able to pick up new technologies quickly as the platform evolves  
• Has 10+ years of professional software development experience
• Has 6+ years of Python or evidence of data work with Python
• Has experience problem solving in streaming data applications
• Has experience using Python to manage big data sets
• Has the ability to solve complex problems with innovative and elegant design
• Has proven experience delivering robust functionality on time in an agile environment
• Has experience with NoSQL technologies (Cassandra, ElasticSearch, SimpleDB)
• Has experience with AWS technologies like SNS, SQS, Lambda, Kinesis

Bonus points:

• Experience working with REST APIs
• Experience with Hadoop and Spark
• Experience with Machine Learning & Recommendation Systems (NumPy, PyTables, NumPy, SciPy)
