About the Role

As an ORIA Award winner for ‘The Best Retail App’ in Australia and recognised as having ‘The Best App’ in the Rocket Internet Group globally, we have a mobile first approach in our business. We aim for a constantly improved product that is innovative and directional in the Industry. In the Australian market we are pioneers in this space and have no intention of stopping or slowing down anytime soon. As a senior Android developer you will be working in the Mobile team on an entirely new native App built from the ground up with focus on App performance and usability. We have recently completely re-written our iOS app and seeing massive growth. Our mission is also to build the best and most engaging Android shopping App and as a key member of the mobile team your expertise will be crucial. If you’re a seasoned Android developer and have a passion for innovating and pioneering new products, this role is for you.

What will I be doing?

Engage our userbase through unconventional and innovative means – in Retail the consumer is not always tech savvy so the user experience and usability is ever more paramount to ongoing success.

• You will be tasked to define the new app architecture with performance and responsiveness as a core requirement
• Develop the app inline with UI designs and UX guidelines
• Work collaboratively with peers, both local and remote
• Integrate with our Restful API
• Perform code reviews
• Create engaging and innovative customer experiences through mobile and tablet platforms.
• Tackle projects from inception to deployment in an agile environment.
• Work with Marketing, BI and Graphics (to name a few) on interesting problems, which combine fashion, design and technology.
• Contribute to a small group of talented and capable Engineers, QA’s, Scrum Masters and Product Managers.
• Help figure out UI/UX problems for new and existing products.
• Here your opinions matter and your individual skills are utilized in an execution-focused enivo.

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will need to have proven experience in building high-end world class Android apps. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced programmer to take their career to the next level by showcasing their skills to a large user base.

• Strong knowledge of Java
• Strong knowledge of Android 4 and higher
• Good portfolio of applications (App Store or enterprise/private)
• Knowledge of unit and behavioural testing frameworks and practices.
• Experience with application architecture
• Experience integrating with existing restful APIs
• Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills
• Highly developed organisational skills with a commitment to meeting deadlines
• Highly team focused with a ‘get things done’ attitude
• Strong focus on usability
• Obsessed with Mobile Technology

Bonus Points for:

• Experience with TDD and/or BDD methodologies.
