Machine learning, high-level database modeling, metrics definition, trend analysis and report generation are crucial to our business and we’re looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer with Big Data experience to take our venture to the next level.

YOU RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Development of scalable, high performance webservices reacting in real-time.
  
• Code optimization and garbage collection tuning.
  
• Development of Big-Data, high-volume applications that support multi-millions of users as well as billions of requests on a daily basis.
  
• Management of multi-layered webservice products, as well as invention and development of new ones.
  
• Communication with different stakeholders from Zalando SE and your team to understand product requirements to carry them out to successul release!
  

YOUR PROFILE:

• You are a Java expert, but also enjoy working with other languages such as ruby or python
  
• Your have completed your higher education in Computer Science / InformationsTechnology and have at least 5 years of experience in the field.
  
• You have working knowledge of technologies such as netty, LMAX Disruptor, Akkan as well as hands-on experience with different databases
  
• You are an efficient communicator with high attention to detail, and can elaborate on complex scenarios,
