What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, build, and implement software solutions to ensure Instacart’s ability to keep pace with our rapid business expansion
• Building and maintaining our company’s software product delivery to enhance our customer’s experience, increase the number of Instacart users, and strengthen our brand in current and new markets
• Independently conduct software analysis and development, to keep Instacart on the cutting edge of changing technologies and attract and retain our customers
• Analyze software specifications and translate system requirements to task specifications for junior engineers
• Responsible for independent analysis of current software, including performance, diagnosis and troubleshooting, and determining design solutions to problematic programming
• Responsible for ongoing development and proofing software to develop needed changes to assure customer satisfaction
• Responsible for ongoing software analysis in order to make recommendations which promote cost-effective measures
• Test new software components; assists lower-level engineers with programming assignments
• Search, summarize and keep the team abreast of strategic information for software improvements
• Responsible for writing technical proposals for new software features

What You Should Already Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent
• Demonstrable projects and results from 2+ years of relevant experience
• Superior analytical skills and a strong sense of ownership in your work
• Experience working with open source, cloud-based web and mobile platforms
• Comfortable working both alone and in teams of various sizes
• Self-motivated drive to build, launch and iterate on products under pressure
