SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER

The Mediamorph engineering team is growing and is looking for a full stack Senior Software Engineer. In this role, you will be working with a small development team on the design, development, enhancements and maintenance of mission-critical web-based software for major film studios, broadcasters and cable network providers/operators in a high-energy, start-up environment. We are looking for Software Engineers who considers themselves full stack developers and can work with databases, servers, systems engineering, understands front end development and has some familiarity with each layer, with the ability to quickly learn new concepts and software as necessary. Mediamorph is primarily a Java and PostgreSQL shop, but we use a wide variety of technologies like Python, JavaScript, MongoDB, HTML5 and Jersey that drives the backbone of our platform to help leading media and entertainment companies operate more efficiently with greater visibility and control in the new world of Digital Distribution.

Responsibilities:

• Design and write new APIs and data processing code in Java
• Create new data models to handle our ever-increasing data volume
• Devise algorithms to handle data synchronization across multiple systems
• Write technical requirements for an offshore development team
• Create public-facing documentation on our GitHub site
• Work closely with a cross-functional team on the development of our new platforms and internal tools

Requirements:

• Bachelors or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience with software design and development skills in Java or equivalent OO language.
• Familiarity with agile development
• Experience and comfort working in a startup environment
• Experience with Javascript, SQL (ideally PostgreSQL) MongoDB is a plus
• 3+ years of experience providing technical solutions development for enterprise software or SaaS deployment services using JEE and/or JSE framework
• Solid database development skills including stored procedures
• Experience with git and unit testing
