Position Overview

We pride ourselves on our clear audio and crisp video. As part of the voice and video team, you will be responsible for ensuring the best quality possible from every device in every meeting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary ownership of the audio media engine on our backend servers
  • With your team, own the media stacks on Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android platforms
  • Design and implement new algorithms to provide the best user experience possible over wired and mobile networks
  • Produce scalable, maintainable, and test-driven C, C++, and Python code in a fast-paced environment

Position requirements

  • 2+ years experience in C/C++
  • Experience in Python or Go a plus
  • Experience working with audio or video at the media layer, SIP, RTP/RTCP, and related protocols a plus
  • Experience with any of the following a plus: VoIP, video conferencing, WebRTC, FreeSWITCH

A SAMPLE OF WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO

In 3 months, you will have:

  • Implement our next generation low latency distributed HD-audio stack on our backend servers
  • Work with the client team to implement a client audio stack that integrates with the next generation audio backend
  • ​​Continue to contribute to and support our existing backend audio services

In 6 months, you will have:

  • Prototype a stereo audio client stack and associated backend service
  • Developed adaptive mechanisms for our backend audio service to deal with low bandwidth situations
  • Contribute to our next generation backend video service
  • Provided multiple releases of our client and server-side software to customers ​ In 12 months, you will have:

  • Rolled out both the next generation audio and next generation video services

  • Helped improve the fuze audio and video experience for our customer base
