Who we are

Catawiki hosts weekly auctions for collectors. Examples of items we have auctioned off include a lock of Napoleon’s hair, a mammoth skeleton, various large meteorites, and the most expensive set of Lego ever produced. Our website is visited millions of times every month and caters to our registered users across the world.

Though we only started a few years ago, our mission to make unique items available to everyone is already becoming reality. The Catawiki offices all over Europe house a dynamic, fast-growing and open organisation. Catawiki has a real ‘hands-on’ mentality, with a casual and friendly atmosphere. We share a strong team-spirit, and all of our inspired employees are motivated to use their own personal talents and skills as part of a whole.

We are very proud to be the first Benelux company to have received an investment from the famous Accel Partners (first venture capital investors in Facebook, as well as Dropbox, Spotify, and Etsy).

What you will do

Our Android development team builds, maintains and perfects our auction apps for Android devices. Within the team you’ll be given plenty of freedom to bring in idea’s to optimize the product. We take our product very serious and hope you will too. This way we ensure a mobile platform that is tuned and tweaked to perfectly serve our millions of users.

You’ll be part of an agile (mobile) development team. You will interact with our backend developers, our design and marketing division and Catawiki’s users, as you develop new app functionality.

Who you are

A driven Android developer needs good communicative skills, a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in information technology, and a portfolio of multiple successful apps. Naturally, you’ll need to be familiar with:

• Android Studio
• Java and the Android SDK
• XML/JSON standards;
• Interaction and visual design (Sketch)
• Crash reporting tools
• Github
• Extensive knowledge of manual memory management

You’re constantly looking for new techniques to help improve our apps. You enjoy A/B testing these apps in order to calibrate or evaluate new features.
